As your pet ages, the gradual onset of disease can sometimes go unnoticed. Once symptoms start to arise, the condition may be difficult and costly to treat and diagnose. This is the reason why a geriatric wellness visit is so important to your pet’s quality of life. Diagnostic testing is an accurate method of detecting subclinical health problems. Our hospital recommends testing your senior pet on a yearly basis. Diagnostic testing can be used to diagnose blood disorders, kidney and liver disease, diabetes, cancer, infection, thyroid issues and other hormonal problems. Many of these conditions can be prevented, controlled or completely reversed if diagnosed early.

Cross Keys Animal Hospital is offering 10% off the price of a Senior Wellness Blood Panel during the month of April. The Senior Wellness Panel includes a CBC, Full Chemistry Screen, Thyroid Function, Urinalysis and Parasite Evaluation.

A Senior Wellness Panel is just one step in promoting a healthy lifestyle for your pet. Twice yearly veterinary visits, regular dental care, vaccinations, control of parasites, heartworm prevention, proper nutrition, regular exercise and a healthy environment also add years to the life of your pet.
